PLASTIC IN BEER

Lie on the beech and grains of sand get everywhere. But those grains of sand are not just sand they include man-made synthetic microfibres.

Sip a cool beer only to find plastic microfibres mixing with the barley, hops, water and yeast. How the heck did they get inside the bottle?

Here’s why? Plastics do not degrade; instead they fragment, breaking down into lots of small, equally toxic bits. Those pieces stick around for centuries long after the usefulness of the product, making their way into any and all ecosystems on our planet.

From plastic bags, water bottles and polyester sportswear, we’re literally drowning in plastic.
